STEPS IN OIL MANUFACTURING PROCESS

PROCESS CONTROL - sample collection

Laboratory checks are repeated in all phases of the production process in order to guarantee that each batch meets the required characteristics.

FOAMING

A lubricant is destined for use in moving vehicles and must not therefore produce foam, because this could seriously affect performance. It is therefore important to observe the speed it takes an oil to reduce foam. This can be done by provoking it artificially, through the insertion of small nebulous air bubbles into the lubricant.

BOILING

For some products it is very important to determine their boiling point using high precision thermometers, for brake fluids for example this is very important because the minimum formation of gas would jeopardize the correct functioning of braking systems.

VISCOSITY

At this particular stage the viscometric check must confirm the required viscosity (SAE grade: 15W-40, 10W-40, etc.).
